John Arnott Visits Brownsville
(Written Feb.22,1996)

Hello Everyone,

I couldn't wait to write to you all today to tell you that we had a surprise visitor at Brownsville last night. His name is on the subject line of this letter! When we were in the prayer team meetings before church, because certain "celebrities" have been arriving to be refreshed like the rest of us, we were told to do our best not to identify them or run around telling everyone they are here if we notice them so they can have a time of renewal from God by just being there. It's hard to be a BIG NAME and slip into a service without being noticed, but because of so many new converts..it can happen for a while. Anyway, after a good 2 hours into praise and worship, pastor Kilpatrick was asking the visitors where they were from and they raised their hands. He was on the last hands which happened to be on the very back row and we heard CANADA..Pastor was walking down that aisle and said "My goodness, John Arnott..I didn't know you were here". At that point he introduced him and two of his friends to us all and brought them to the platform. Richie and I were in the choir loft so we were able to see everything real good. Bro. Arnott shared just a few words on what brought renewal to Toronto after he was asked to. In short..it was a Deep hunger for God that surpassed everything else..like it was for us here at Brownsville. Pastor Arnott was very sweet and humble. He looks like a big ole teddy bear anyway!! I had just gotten my Charisma Magazine this week and the article about him and the Airport church in Toronto happened to be the only article I had read so far.

After the sermon, when prayer ministry began, I was assigned to the platform to keep watch over the crowds in front of me to get the cloths to the prayer team members to cover those that fall in the Spirit. I love that job.. I get to see from a birds eye view the moving of the Holy Spirit on hundreds of faces..Oh it is so beautiful..\o/... I saw after a while that Pastor Arnott was praying too on the other side of the building. It was like watching TV because it was hard to sink in that he was really here. There was such a mob around him that usually all I could see was his face (he is tall) and his hands on their heads. I think what blessed me the most is not that HE is anything but that GOD is everything and what started in Toronto..really is HERE too.. We so appreciate Bro. Arnott for being open to God because thats where Mrs. Kilpatrick went..to his church in Toronto and the impartation (anointing) did truly follow her home to us!

I sincerely hope and pray that John Arnott was refreshed at Brownsville and was able to feel Gods presence. I would love to go to Toronto..and will one day, with YOU I hope!

Love Cathy
